The Sporting News

Has anyone ever heard of the Sporting News? This sign, of unknown age, is on the top of a building near Washington Avenue.

  2. Sporting News is a popular newsweekly about sports. It was headquartered here from 1886-2005 when it was sold and moved to Charlotte.

TSN was THE weekly baseball magazine of the USA from the late 1880s through most of the 20th Century. It gave exhaustive coverage of baseball, including box scores of EVERY game played. It was headquartered in StL. The Spink family (of Ladue fame) founded it and maintained control until the 1980s. It now covers many sports.
